With Customized Employment, we create and carve job descriptions from scratch. Our Customized Employment Specialists facilitate the individualized determination of each job seeker’s strengths, needs, and interests. We then match these to the tasks and needs of compatible employers. Each employment relationship is designed to meet the needs of both job seekers and employers.
In the Supported Employment Program, we strive to empower and prepare the people we serve to be contributing members of the work force through an array of job readiness activities. Specifically, we provide training, assistance with job searches, and job coaching. We also provide support through employment activities through enrichment activities in math, reading, and technological skills. We offer hands on training in working independently and as a part of a team at the 20+ volunteer sites with whom St. Peter’s is partnered. At St. Peter’s, we also offer in-house employment training opportunities through our micro-businesses. The micro-businesses include a car wash, vending machines, document shredding, and airplane cleaning. Our drive to prepare people with disabilities to become contributing members of the work force is evident through the number of individuals who are employed by companies in their communities.
